Methi Thepla-By Gobble

English Recipe

Ingredients:

11⁄2 cups Wheat Flour

1⁄2 cup Fenugreek leaves (Methi) (finely chopped)

3 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)

1 tbsp curd (yogurt)

1 tsp Ginger-­Garlic paste

1 tsp Red Chilli Powder

1⁄2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Coriander powder

2 tsp oil

Salt to taste

Water

Preparation:

1. Mix 1 cup wheat flour, fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves, curd, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, ginger­-garlic paste, 1 ­tsp oil and salt in a bowl

2. Add water as needed and knead a smooth and soft dough

3. Divide it into equal parts and shape them into balls

4. Take the dough balls one-by-one, flatten them to a patty like shape, coat with dry wheat flour and place it on rolling board

5. Roll them out into circles like rotis

6. Heat a tava (griddle) over medium flame, then place raw methi thepla on it

7. When tiny bubbles appear on the top surface, flip it over

8. Spread 1⁄2 tsp oil evenly on its surface and cook for 30 seconds

9. Flip it again, spread 1⁄2 tsp oil evenly on its surface and cook other side as well

10. Press it against the tawa with a spatula so that it cooks evenly, cook for 20-30 seconds

11. Repeat process (without spreading any more oil) until light golden brown spots appear on both sides

12. Serve hot with masala tea, curd or pickles

13. Gobble, gobble, gobble!
