Bhatkali Biryani


  1. 1 kg Basmati Rice
  2. 1 Kg Chicken
  3. 6 tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste
  4. 2 tablespoons Red Chilli Paste
  5. 9 Green Chilli piece
  6. 5 Tomato piece
  7. 6 Onion ( Rings ) Piece
  8. Mint Leaves
  9. Coriander leaves
  10. Sunflower oil Refined
  11. 4 tablespoons Ghee
  12. 1 teaspoon Cumin
  13. 10 Clove Piece
  14. 5 Cardamom Green piece
  15. 2 teaspoons Turmeric Powder
  16. Salt
  17. Pepper
  18. 2 Litres Water ( Approx )



Cut the Onions and Tomatoes in rings shape.


Cut the Green Chili in long shape and coriander Mint leaves into small pieces.


Switch onthe gas stove and heat a pan for a minute and add Refined Sunflower Oil.


Add Onion pieces into it along with Cumin seeds.


Close the pot and heat it for 6-9 Minutes until the onion get soft. Once its done add salt as per taste and mix it properly.


Add Green Chilli in to the mixture and mix it and cook it for another 2-3 Minutes.


Add Tomatoes into it and mix it properly and close the pot for 2 minutes and then look if the tomatoes get soft or not.


Once the tomatoes get cooked accordingly, you can add the Ginger Garlic Paste in to it along with Red Chilli paste and then add turmeric powder and mix it properly.


Once Mixed properly, close the pan and cook for 4-5 Minutes and then add Chicken pieces into it and mix it along with half glass of water and add the coriander leaves along wit PepperĀ into it. Furtherclose the pan and let it cook for 10 – 15 Minutes on normal heat. (Keep stirring the mixture once every 3 Minutes, to check the consistency).


Once cooked keep the pan aside and follow the next step.


Next Step is to soak the rice into water for an hour before preparation.


Take another Pan and heat it, Add Ghee andClove Green Cardamom along with few pieces of onion rings and heat it for a minute or twountil the onion rings get light brown.


Add Water in to the pan. (Water Calculation : For every Glass of Rice, 2 Glass of Water is required) Hence add water accordingly to the pan. (Note: 300 Ml Drinking Glasses)


Rice Calculation : For every 2 Glass of Rice, 3 Person can serve easily.


Once you add water into the pan, Stir it properly and add little salt as per taste and cook it for 6-8 Minutes until the water is boiling.


Once water is boiling add the Soaked rice into it and close the pan.


Remember, you need to cook the rice into 60 – 80 percent ratio.


Once rice is cooked on 60% ratio, take half of the rice out Strain it. Add it in the First pan where our chicken gravy is ready.


Pour the rice over that Chicken Mixture accordingly in 2 layers format. And to remember those layer, Add Round Tomatoes pieces into every layer along with Mint Leavesand cover the vessel with a lid (don’t allow pressure to go out). Reduce flame and cook for 10 min.


Add remaining rice layer by layer andFinally, add lime juice mixed with turmeric powder through small holes made in the rice. Cover the vessel with a lid (don’t allow pressure to go out). Reduce flame and cook for 5 min Then Switchoff the flame and leave the pan as it is for 15 minutes (don’t allow pressure to go out).


Now you can serve the food and taste it deliciously.


Serve with raita. (It will add a pleasure to your dish for all food lovers)
